Job Description

Job Description – SSIS Developer (Banking Domain, On-Premise with Denodo Integration)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SSIS Developer to design, develop, and maintain ETL processes supporting the bank’s on-premise Data Warehouse and Data Lakehouse ecosystem. The developer will work closely with the Denodo team to ensure seamless integration between physical ETL pipelines and the data virtualization/semantic layer, enabling unified and governed data access across banking applications.

Key Responsibilities

ETL Development & Maintenance

Design, develop, and optimize SSIS packages for ingestion, transformation, and loading of data from multiple banking source systems (Core Banking, Payments, Trade, GL, LOS, CLOS, etc.).

Implement incremental loads, CDC processes, and reconciliation frameworks to support banking operations.

Ensure ETL jobs meet performance, reliability, and recovery SLAs.

Integration with Denodo

Collaborate with Denodo Architects/Developers to expose curated ETL outputs (Silver layer) into Denodo.

Enable virtualized consumption of SSIS-transformed datasets through Denodo’s semantic layer for downstream BI and reporting.

Support hybrid data access strategies where some datasets remain in ETL-driven storage (SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata) and others are accessed via Denodo federation.

On-Premise Deployment & Support

Work in a Windows Server / SQL Server environment, deploying SSIS packages to on-prem servers.

Integrate SSIS workflows with bank’s scheduling/orchestration tools (e.g., Control-M, SQL Server Agent).

Ensure ETL pipelines comply with internal firewalls, DMZ, and security controls.

Data Quality & Governance

Implement validation, error handling, and exception logging in SSIS workflows.

Provide data lineage and metadata to feed into Denodo Catalog and bank’s governance framework.

Partner with QA and governance teams to ensure compliance with SAMA (Saudi Central Bank) data security policies.

Collaboration & Documentation

Work with business analysts, Denodo developers, and reporting teams (Power BI, downstream apps).

Document SSIS workflows, dependencies, and data mapping specifications.

Participate in SIT, UAT, and production cutovers with project teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in SSIS development within banking or financial institutions.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL), SSIS, stored procedures, and query optimization.
  • Experience with data warehousing and ETL design patterns (full load, incremental load, CDC, SCD).
  • Hands-on exposure to integrating SSIS pipelines with Denodo or other data virtualization platforms.
  • Familiarity with banking data domains (Payments, Cards, Loans, Trade, General Ledger, Regulatory).
  • Strong understanding of on-premise security, role-based access, and encrypted data handling.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Denodo caching, data services (REST/SOAP), and BI tool integration.
  • Experience with Teradata, Cloudera Hive/Impala, or Oracle DBs as SSIS source/target.
  • Familiarity with Informatica or other ETL tools used in co-existence with SSIS.
  • Knowledge of Arabic language data handling (character sets, Unicode).
