Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Upgrade and migrate DB2 versions.
• Apply PTFS/APARS regularly.
• Manage DB2 ISV products and system catalogs.
• Assist to optimize application data and database environments.
• Use offline utilities (e.g., DSNJLOGF, DSNJU004).
• Ensure database security by managing user IDs and privileges.
• Administer DB2 on z/OS, including SQL creation and performance tuning.
• Define physical databases (DDL) and understand logical design.
• Implement DB2 software installs, upgrades, and security compliance.
• Monitor threads, table spaces, and index spaces.
• Handle event resolution and escalations.
• Perform database and SQL performance tuning.
• Recycle DB2 and create image copies.
• Create databases and manage authorities.
• Support disaster recovery as per client requirements.
• Build and maintain databases and related objects.
• Use online utilities (e.g., CHECKDATA, COPY, REORG).

Experience:

• Total: 12+ years.
• Relevant: 8 - 12 years in DB2 on z/OS.
