Consultant – General Surgery (Western Qualified)
Location: RAK

Job Summary:

The Consultant General Surgeon will provide high quality surgical care including diagnosis operative and non operative management of patients with a wide range of general surgical conditions. The role requires a Western-trained and board-certified surgeon with extensive experience in modern surgical techniques, patient safety, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures.
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with general surgical conditions.
Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
Lead outpatient clinics and inpatient ward rounds.
Ensure adherence to clinical pathways and evidence-based practices.
Respond to surgical emergencies on-call as per hospital policy.

Surgical Expertise:

Manage conditions related to gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, colorectal, breast, thyroid, and soft tissue surgery.
Perform minimally invasive (laparoscopic) procedures where applicable.
Maintain high standards of surgical outcomes and patient safety.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:
(MBBS or equivalent).
Western Qualification required
American Board Certification
Canadian Board Certification
German Board Certified
CCT (UK)
CCST
FRCS

Experience:
Minimum 5–15 years of post-specialization experience in General Surgery.
Experience in a tertiary care or accredited hospital setting preferred.

Licensure:
Eligible for or holding a valid medical license in [UAE / DHA / DOH / MOH].

Working Conditions:
Full-time position with on-call duties.
May require working evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.

Benefits:
70,000 to 75,000 or Competitive tax-free salary (as per UAE standards).
