Job Description

Responsibilities:

Develop and review Automation & Control deliverables including Control Philosophies, Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Cause & Effect Charts, Logic Diagrams, and System Architecture.

Design and configure control systems such as DCS, PLC, SCADA, ESD, and Fire & Gas systems.

Define system architecture, network design, and communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC).

Prepare and review technical specifications, datasheets, and material requisitions for automation systems.

Perform software development, configuration, and testing of control systems.

Review and approve vendor documentation and participate in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).

Support and witness FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test).

Ensure integration between control systems, field instrumentation, and third-party packages.

Collaborate with Process, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines for system optimization.

Support Construction, Pre-commissioning, and Commissioning phases, including system start-up and troubleshooting.

Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and functional safety requirements.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Automation Engineering, Control Systems, Electronics, or equivalent discipline.

12–15 years of experience in Oil & Gas Offshore EPC projects (platforms, FPSOs, subsea facilities).

Strong expertise in DCS, PLC, SCADA systems (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson, ABB).

Experience in control logic development, system integration, and automation architecture.

Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and network systems.

Familiarity with international standards (IEC, ISA, API) and offshore safety requirements.

Experience in SIL, HAZOP/HAZID, and functional safety design is highly preferred.

Understanding of cybersecurity principles for industrial control systems.

Proficient in automation engineering tools and software configuration platforms.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
