Responsibilities:
Student Welfare & Support
Act as a visible, approachable presence on campus to support student wellbeing.
Identify and respond to students who appear distressed, vulnerable, or in need of assistance.
Provide initial support and refer students to Student Affairs, Counseling, and Medical Services
Support students during sensitive situations (e.g., conflict, medical concerns, emotional distress).
Conduct & Behaviour Monitoring
Monitor student behaviour in common areas to promote respectful conduct and adherence to university policies.
De-escalate conflicts using calm communication and restorative approaches before situations intensify.
Report welfare or conduct concerns through formal channels in line with university procedures.
Assist in implementing outcomes from Student Conduct processes when required.
Safety & Incident Response
Respond to non-criminal incidents with a welfare-first approach.
Support emergency procedures, including medical or safety incidents, while prioritising student wellbeing.
Liaise with standard security staff for issues requiring enforcement or escalation.
Collaboration & Prevention
Work closely with Student Affairs, Counseling Services, and CPDS
Contribute to awareness initiatives promoting respect, safety, and community values.
Maintain accurate and confidential incident and welfare reports.
