Job Description

Responsibilities:

Bid Phase: Lead the mapping of contractual commitments in client-facing contracts against established client trading principles.

Track and manage identified commercial and solution risks, and support governance requirements related to commercial and procurement aspects of any bid.

Ensure alignment with the strategic direction and financial goals of the organization.

Operational Phase: Monitor adherence to customer-facing contracts and offer effective contract administration functions, including support during transition phases.

Ensure seamless execution and risk mitigation for ongoing contracts.

Business Partner Engagement: Collaborate with Business Partners to understand strategic business needs, including bid requirements, and ensure these are met through commercial and procurement support.

Engage in high-level discussions to align procurement strategies with business growth objectives.

Development of Commercial Solutions: Assist in the creation and refinement of winning commercial solutions aimed at fostering sustainable growth for client(SME).

Offer insights to optimize supply chain management, cost efficiencies, and risk mitigation.

Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of procedures and key controls to ensure they remain fit-for-purpose, are aligned with evolving SME needs, and comply with regulatory and operational requirements. Lead initiatives for improving operational efficiencies.

Opportunity Management: Oversee the management of the register of all commercial opportunities and submissions, ensuring real-time updates and accuracy.

Track and support Contract Managers' adherence to required reporting for their sectors or contracts.

Procurement Strategy Execution: Lead the execution of SME or sector-specific procurement category strategies and associated pipeline projects.

Ensure strategies drive cost savings, service enhancements, innovation, and effective risk management.

Develop frameworks for evaluating performance.

Category Insight and Expertise: Collaborate with Business Partners to provide strategic category insights, expertise, and procurement best practices to support bids.

Create competitive supply chain structures that meet bid requirements, optimize existing suppliers, and manage new supplier onboarding.

Strategy Implementation Tracking: Monitor the implementation of procurement strategies, track project delivery, spend, performance, and compliance within the designated category.

Provide detailed reports and analysis to drive informed decision-making.

Support for Self-Serve Procurement: Provide strategic guidance and tools to the wider business for self-serve procurement activity for sourcing projects below the GBP 100k threshold.

Ensure compliance with procurement policies and standards.

Supplier Management: Conduct supplier due diligence and onboarding in compliance with client standards and policies.

Lead efforts in contract spend analysis to identify areas of non-compliance and corrective actions in collaboration with Procurement Business Partners.

Contract Administration: Oversee the management of supplier contracts, ensuring approvals, signatures, and proper archiving in Client systems.

Drive process improvements to streamline contract management and governance.

Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including commercial, contracts, legal, and procurement functions, as well as key customers.

Act as a trusted advisor in commercial negotiations and supplier engagements.

Market Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of suppliers, market trends, and influencing factors within client spend categories through supplier engagement, industry reports, and participation in relevant industry events.

Provide strategic insights to shape procurement direction.

Additional Tasks: Execute additional tasks as required by the line manager or head of department, ensuring that they align with the overall commercial and procurement strategy.

Required Skills:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial / finance / procurement roles

Minimum 5 years’ experience in an English speaking international corporate environment with a preference for Middle East/KSA

Graduate calibre with a bachelor’s degree

Post-graduate qualification (e.g., MSc/MBA) or a professional qualification such as MCIPS and or any internationally recognised commercial or finance qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Project Management qualifications desired but not essential

Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office

Expertise in project management tools, reading and extracting data, from contracts and proposals

Experience in risk identification and reporting to mitigate or minimize such identified risks / issues.

Understanding of the key components of contracts, terms and conditions and the legislative environment that applies to and affects such commercial contracts.

Drafting supplier contracts and managing client and supplier contract lifecycle

Experience in managing end to end procurement process including market analysis, supplier due-diligence, supplier onboarding, supplier proposal evaluation, negotiations, supplier price and relationship management.

A proven track record of instituting continuous improvement and change management.

Demonstrable subject matter expertise (and where appropriate accreditation) across the following elements of Commercial Management:

Support invoicing processes to protect the cashflow.

Advanced knowledge of ERP, contract management, and procurement systems

Able to interact with all relevant stakeholders.

Possesses good business acumen, able to understand complex business needs and drivers, and identify ways to address.

Passion for understanding customer’s critical issues and drivers and delivering compelling solutions to meet those challenges.

Reading and extracting contract data,

Strong planning, organising, analytical and fact-based decision-making skills with high attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
