Responsibilities:

Engineering Leadership & Operations

Provide technical leadership and governance for all electrical engineering operations across the project.

Act as the technical authority for electrical infrastructure and systems, including substations, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, lighting, emergency power, and earthing/lightning protection systems.

Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical assets in line with applicable regulations, standards, and best practices.

Oversee and manage civil works, including planning, coordination, and execution of related activities, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Team Leadership & People Management

Provide operational leadership and direction to the technical team, including in-house technicians and engineers.

Manage staff performance, development, and training to build technical capability within the team.

Allocate resources and manage workload distribution across electrical and civil disciplines.

Asset Management & Reliability

Lead the development and implementation of the project electrical lifecycle programme.

Drive asset reliability through engineering assessments, condition evaluations, and renewal recommendations.

Prioritize and submit asset renewal plans in accordance with asset management principles and contract requirements.

Coordinate lifecycle planning to support long-term operational and financial performance.

Specialist Systems Management

Oversee the performance and integrity of specialist electrical systems, including substations, switchgear, generators, UPS, emergency power, and earthing/lightning protection.

Ensure specialist systems are maintained, tested, and operated in accordance with manufacturer and statutory requirements.

Review and validate technical specifications and system upgrades as required.

Contractor & Vendor Management

Oversee the performance of specialist contractors engaged in electrical and civil works.

Liaise with contractors and vendors to monitor work progress, quality, and adherence to timelines.

Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with scope, safety, and quality standards.

Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with contractual, statutory, and electrical safety requirements across all operations.

Maintain adherence to applicable regulations, codes, and industry best practices for electrical and civil works.

Support statutory compliance objectives in line with client and regulatory expectations.

Business Continuity & Emergency Management

Ensure reliability and readiness of emergency power systems and associated infrastructure to support business continuity.

Develop and support contingency plans for electrical system failures or emergencies.

Coordinate emergency response activities related to electrical infrastructure.

Change Management & Continuous Improvement

Support the Operations Manager in achieving operational excellence, energy efficiency, sustainability objectives, and continuous improvement.

Identify opportunities for process, system, and performance improvements within electrical operations.

Drive implementation of change initiatives aligned with contract and organizational goals.

Report & Stakeholder Management

Report on civil works status, asset condition, and lifecycle programme progress to relevant stakeholders.

Support the Operations Manager with reporting related to customer satisfaction, financial performance, and compliance.

Maintain clear communication with stakeholders on engineering operations, risks, and project status.

Team Leadership & People Management

Provide on-the-job (OJT) training for engineers and supervisors to develop technical competency and support succession planning.

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Professional engineering certification (e.g., PMP/LEED, or UAE-recognized equivalent such as Society of Engineers membership) is an advantage.

Minimum of [5] years' experience in electrical engineering within a facilities management, or building services environment, including experience at a senior/engineer level.

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Effective problem-solving and decision-making, particularly for electrical faults and reliability issues.

Strong planning and organizational skills for lifecycle programmes, PPM, and civil works coordination.

Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Contractor and vendor management, including performance monitoring.

Proficiency in CAFM/CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo).

Strong report writing and presentation skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites/systems

Sound knowledge of electrical engineering principles, systems, and industry standards applicable to facilities management (e.g., substations, switchgear, generators, UPS, lighting, emergency power, earthing and lightning protection).

Knowledge of FM best practice standards and maintenance schedules, such as SFG20, for planned preventive maintenance (PPM) of electrical and building services.

Working knowledge of applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, including local electrical safety codes and international standards (e.g., IEC, NFPA, NEC as applicable).

Knowledge of asset lifecycle management principles, including condition assessment, renewal planning, and reliability-centered maintenance.

Understanding of civil works processes and coordination requirements relevant to FM operations.

Familiarity with CAFM/CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo) for asset management, PPM, and reporting.

Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to electrical and civil works.

Understanding of contract management principles, including SLAs, KPIs, and performance-based service delivery in an FM context.

Awareness of energy efficiency and sustainability practices relevant to electrical systems.
